From a Court That Closed at Dusk to One That Plays All Evening
The Brief
The club wanted to keep playing through the darker months without the glare and hot-spots of older floodlights: bright, even light on the court, and no light spilling into nearby homes.
The Challenge
Sports lighting is a design job before it’s an electrical one. The levels have to be right across the whole playing area, the columns sited carefully, and the spill controlled, all while keeping running costs sensible for a community club.
Our Approach
We modelled the scheme to club-standard lux levels, specified efficient LED heads with tight optics to cut glare and spill, and set the columns where they’d light evenly. Then our own team installed, terminated, tested and certified the lot: no job handed to subcontractors.
The Result
A court that’s genuinely usable after dark: even light, controlled spill, lower energy use than the kit it replaced, and the paperwork to prove it’s all to standard.
