Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files, and “local storage” is a similar feature, that a website can save on your device. They’re widely used to make sites work, to remember your choices, and sometimes to measure how a site is used.

We store a small note of your cookie choice(whether you accepted or rejected), so the banner doesn’t keep asking. That’s held in your browser’s local storage on your own device, not on our servers, and isn’t used to identify you.

If you accept, we also use Google Analyticsto see how the site is used: which pages people visit, how they found us and roughly where they are. It only loads after you’ve clicked Accept. If you reject, or haven’t chosen yet, it doesn’t run at all. Google Analytics sets these cookies:

• _ga: tells one visit apart from another so we can count visitors. Lasts up to 2 years.
• _ga_<ID> (for example _ga_6D393TNX67): keeps track of your current session. Lasts up to 2 years.

We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t share your browsing with third parties for marketing.

We group what we use into two simple categories:

• Strictly necessary: needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on and can’t be switched off, as the site won’t function properly without them.
• Analytics (optional): Google Analytics, which helps us see how the site is used so we can improve it. These are off unless you accept.

You can change your choice here at any time. “Reset choice” clears your preference and brings the small banner back so you can decide again. If you change from accepted to rejected, Google Analytics stops loading straight away; any _ga cookies already set stay on your device until they expire or you delete them in your browser settings.

You can also control cookies and local storage through your browser settings: including blocking or deleting them. Note that blocking strictly-necessary storage may stop parts of the site working as expected.
